Accordi Cromatici

by Laura Sattin

Using a process called “double incalmo”, known for its difficulty: four or six hands are required to graft the three colored glasses, blown individually. The materials are then fused together while hot, giving rise to a unique trichromy, subsequently covered by a thick transparent wall. The artist plays with the color wheel to create colored vases, alternating between combinations of complementary colors or tone-on-tone natural and autumnal shades.

Each piece is about L4 x W4 x H15 in in size and weighs about 9.8 lbs
